I fucking love being nominated for blogging awards. Writing blog posts is a huge passion of mine, and it’s so incredibly rewarding to be recognized by fellow bloggers. Right now I’m all hopped up on caffeine so I’m practically giddy. And I give all my thanks to Richard Peter! Thank you kindly, sir. Anyone who hasn’t already should definitely checkout his blog. Lots of very insightful and inspirational posts.
What is this Sunshine Blogger Award?
This award is given by bloggers to fellow bloggers who inspire positivity and creativity in the blogging community.
(Honestly, this is a bit of a shocker since at least 90% of my posts are rather dark… but I’m not complaining!) Following are the questions asked and my answers. Enjoy 🙂
Why did you start blogging?
I started blogging during what seemed to be a very dark time in my life. I won’t go into detail, but I was just very distant, very alone, empty and depressed as hell. I felt like if I didn’t find some feeling of connectedness–with anyone–then things would only get worse and I was afraid to go there. So, I made this blog with intentions of spilling my guts to see if anyone else out there felt the same way I feel inside. To my surprise, they do 🙂 In a way this blog saved me, so I’m glad I did it.
Who is your favorite blogger?
I do always enjoy reading the creative posts of Mr. James Cudney 🙂
What keeps you going and motivated?
I’m going to sound narcissistic, but me. Well–a future me. Someone that doesn’t even exist. Just, the idea of a better me. I want to reach that person, and be that person.
Also, my girlfriend and her two kids. I’m obsessed with the thought of giving them everything they deserve.
What is your weirdest habit?
I’m very OCD when it comes to organizing. Everything in my apartment has to be parallel, and right angles are everywhere. “If it isn’t a right angle, it’s a wrong angle.” LMAO. There’s a lot of weird stuff going on there, but I guess the weirdest is my closet. All my clothes are color coordinated–light to dark–and hung with roughly an inch of space in between each.
What is your favorite cuisine?
My favorite food is like my favorite song–it keeps changing. Last night I had a chicken parmesan sandwich from the Cheesecake Factory and that was pretty fucking good 🙂
What is a personality trait you would like to change in yourself?
I have a rather obsessive compulsive personality. I obsess over little things, create problems that don’t exist, and spend too much time over-analyzing EVERYTHING. Yeah, I wouldn’t mind saying bye-bye to that.
What are the first three things you always notice in a person?
Do they look clean?
How outgoing are they?
Honestly that’s a hard question to answer since everyone is different and gives off different impressions.
Which is the best book you have read to date?
I’m going to use this moment to give a nod to a fellow blogger/writer. We recently swapped beta reading services and I was pleasantly surprised with the skill of her writing and storytelling. Her name is Kelly Griffiths, and her blog can be found HERE 🙂 I won’t say anything about her book but be prepared to see her name in your local bookstore soon!
How do you deal with the negative comments of the people about your appearance or anything else?
Depends on my mood I suppose. These days I typically try to just ignore small negative things like other people’s opinions. Everyone’s a critic, right?
What is the meaning of your name?
Love this question. Been wanting to make a post on it actually. When I first decided I wanted to make this blog and vent everything I feel, I didn’t want to use my actual identity. I wanted to unveil all my secrets and emotions with a sense of privacy. Felt like I was giving the world my diary, so of course I wanted to hide my face. In my pic, I clearly am with the blindfold. MrHushHush is just the guy who harnesses everything I’m too afraid to talk about in real life.
What is your goal in life?
Success. Plain and simple. I want to live and know it was for a reason. To know I made somewhat of an impact.
Everyone I’ve nominated, please feel free to answer the same questions above. I look forward to reading your responses!
Thanks for reading, and thanks again Richard for the nomination 🙂
